Internationalization: More Than The Bottom Line

It’s back to school season in Canada and universities are greeted with an influx of international students.

Canadian universities are no strangers on the subject of international education. But Canada has been chided for falling behind the global race for internationalization. As a result, there is a push to double the enrolment of international students in Canadian universities. The national plan for internationalization is an ambitious one: to increase enrolment of international students in universities, doubling from 239,130 to 450, 000 in 10 years. This should be done while maintaining the number of seats for Canadian students.
